Why Chicken Lily?
When Bryan and I moved our home and studio from North of Dallas to South Austin, we wanted to create an environment where the interior and exterior spaces of our home and studio would be interdependent. We looked and looked for a house with a sunny yard with enough space to support our large collection of crinum lilies and a small studio. Then came the chickens, our fluffy, curious, and mischievous fertilizing machines. The chickens and the crinum lilies are ever present reminders of the environment. They keep life grounded and mark the passing of seasons with their cycles and routines. We settled on the name “Chicken Lily Studio,” because it best describes the experience of the place, inside and out.
